The prestigious One Voice Awards UK has nominated Nigerian-based voice actor and brand voice specialist, Adebayo Adejokun, for the Best Female International Voiceover Performance category at the 2022 edition.
Her nomination, which the organisation announced on March 30 this year was following her exceptional delivery of her GSK Nigeria’s Maclean Fresh Gel commercial.
The One Voice Awards finals, which will hold in London on May 14 this year, is one of the world’s most prestigious award programmes that honours excellence and celebrates talents in the voiceover industry.
Recently, the Awards introduced an international category for male and female voice actors. This was to recognise and honour exceptional voiceover works and actors outside the UK.
While Adejokun is the first Nigerian nominee in this category, others in the Best Female International Voiceover Performance category are: AnaK Borré, Estelle Hubert, Gaelle Betend, Miwa Yokoyama, Sara Delgado, and Stephanie Matard.
In her reaction, Adedayo expressed, “This nomination itself is a win for many other Female African Voiceover talents out there, being the only African nominated in this category.
“I really hope this nomination inspires upcoming voice talents to dream big, own their craft, and never settle for anything short of excellence.”
Revered as an enterprise communicator, event and television programme host, Adedayo provides purpose-driven service to brands delivering exceptional value and enriching lives.
Her voiceover genre includes interactive voice response – IVR, radio and television commercials, documentaries, Narrations, and animation.
She has voiced for international and local brands including Fidelity Bank, Friesland Campina Wamco, Nigerian Breweries, Society for Family Health, Stallion Bajaj, and Novozymes.
“I’m very excited that my first nomination for a voiceover award comes from One Voice UK, a prestigious organisation renowned internationally in the voiceover industry for being exceptionally thorough, totally independent and incorruptible,” she enthused.

“I’m very grateful to God, collaborators on the award-winning piece and the production team,” she added.

The Maclean Fresh Gel commercial was produced by Greenland sound factory for GSK Nigeria to create awareness and educate young Nigerians on dental hygiene.
