The Lagos State Government, Friday, made a u-turn, approving only May 2nd and 3rd as public holidays to celebrate the 2022 International Workers’ Day and the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The government also told workers in the state to disregard its earlier circular which approved three straight days from Monday to Wednesday as public holidays.
Earlier, the Head of Service in the state, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, had approved May 2 to 4 as public holidays in a circular to workers dated 27 April 2022.
Meanwhile, following the declaration the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, made on Thursday endorsing May 2 and 3 only as public holidays, the Lagos HoS made a U-Turn and approved the same.
The state, therefore, urged workers to disregard the first circular.
