
The Lagos State Government has approved from Monday 2nd to Wednesday 4th of Mayas public holidays to commemorate International Workers’ Day and Eid-El- Fitr celebrations in line with the Federal Government’s directive.
This was contained in a circular dated April 27 and signed by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
The statement read in part, “As part of activities to mark the year 2022 International Workers’ Day Celebration and in line with tradition, a Match-past of various Workers/Trade Unions will take place at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Sunday, 1st May 2022 at 9:00 am with Mr Governor as Special Guest of Honour.”
The further stated that work resumes in Lagos State Thursday 5 May this year at 8am prompt.
Sequel to the notice of holidays in the circular, all public servants and Muslim faithful who observed fasting during the Holy Month of Ramadan are enjoined to stay safe during the Eid-El- Fitr and Workers’ Day celebrations.
