Lagos is a Nigerian metropolitan city with many sights to see and exotic places to visit; beautiful landscapes, nature, parks, restaurants, and many more that are sure to help you relax alone or with your loved ones. Some of these hangout spots host special events such as karaoke nights, game nights, salsa dance nights, ladies’ nights, and so on. Below is a compilation of some of these relaxation spots.

Bogobiri

Bogobiri is a restaurant and an art gallery. This is a cool place which is more of an art gallery and a restaurant in the afternoon but lights up with the sound of a live band, karaoke, and music in the evening. Bogobiri has different activities planned for each day of the week, and you can choose to hang out there at any time of your choosing.

Tarkwa Bay

Tarkwa Bay comes to mind as the Miami of Nigeria. While it’s not quite as populated or evolved, it is one of the many cool beaches in Lagos where you can relax. It offers a variety of outdoor activities and water sports such as boat rides and surfing. It also provides kayaking, horseback riding, quad bikes, and other activities.

LUFASI Nature Park

LUFASI is a non-governmental organisation that stands for Lekki Urban Forestry and Animal Shelter Initiative. The park is an animal sanctuary and a forest conservation area that is perfect for relaxation. LUFASI oversees advocacy, research, and education. It is also a refuge for rescued endangered animals. It combines a conservation centre, a recreation centre, and an animal shelter. LUFASI Park has become one of Lekki’s most popular tourist attractions and a good place to relax with nature.

Landmark Centre

The Landmark Centre is a multi-site attraction in Lagos. It is located at No. 4, Water Corporation, Victoria Island, Lagos. The setting is open and inviting, with restaurants, fashion stores, a cinema, game centres, and a beach.

The Landmark Centre is open and free to the public from morning to night. However, to visit the hangout spots within, including the beach, money must be spent to enjoy their facilities.

Jaekel House

This historic railroad house in Ebute Metta is ideal for picnics and a trip back in time. The late-nineteenth-century structure houses, among other things, relics of the old railway corporation. I’m not sure if this is typical, but when my friends and I visited, we were given an in-depth tour of the house and its relics, rode on the manual train – which was chaotic and fun – and finished our visit with a picnic behind the house.

Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park

This park can get very crowded because there aren’t many public parks in Lagos. Nonetheless, if you go on a nice day, it’s a great place for a picnic. Be aware that a portion of the park is adjacent to a major road. If the blaring horns are too much for you, you should go, take some Instagram photos, and then go somewhere quieter.

ATV World Lekki

This location is also known as quad biking heaven because the tracks here are specifically designed for quad biking. Who could say no to biking on the beach? No one. They even provide training. Have fun racing with your friends or loved ones here.

Jazzhole

The Jazzhole is primarily a bookstore selling both used and new books of all genres from Nigeria, Africa, and the rest of the world. It also features a record store in the heart of Ikoyi and is the ideal place to unwind. This is a must-see for fans of books and contemporary music. Its diverse collection of books and records creates the ideal atmosphere for book lovers. Here, you can buy books, read, buy delicious desserts, vinyl records, and even listen to jazz music and Nigerian legends. Jazzhole sells well-known novels, intellectual texts, coffee table books, and dusty copies of prestigious magazines.

The Sailors’ Lounge

Sailor’s Lounge is the place to go if you want a lavish and pleasant nightlife experience. It is located on Admiralty Way in Lekki and is ideal for a relaxing evening after a long day at work.

Sailor’s Lounge is a fully furnished, relaxed and adventurous lounge with a sea view that complements the ambience for unwinding, business networking, and water view. The lounge is divided into three sections: the Sailor’s Bar, the Captain’s Cabin, and the Captain’s Deck. Captain’s Deck is Nigeria’s first floating bar, designed specifically to capture the experience of floating atop the ocean for maximum enjoyment.

The music is not too loud, and there are excellent views of the Lagoon. The overall atmosphere is hard to find in other parts of Lagos. If you’re tired of the rumbling and booming of clubs, this is the place to be.

Rhapsody’s

Lagosians adore Rhapsody. It is unquestionably one of the most beautiful locations for nighttime activities. If you don’t want to spend too much money, it’s located in Ikeja City Mall in Alausa, Ikeja. When it comes to dishes, variety is everything; you’ll swoon over the perfectly prepared Nigerian classic “Prawn suya.”

Kapadoccia

Kapadoccia, also known as the Cave Restaurant, is one of Lagos’ buzzing restaurants. And, true to its name, it has the appearance of a cave.

Kappadocia Lagos offers an eclectic menu heavily influenced by Turkish classics and a distinct Nigerian flavour that will linger in your mouth long after you’ve finished your meal. The restaurant creates a delicious fusion of both Nigerian and Turkish cultures by offering an array of mouth-watering Turkish cuisines ranging from starters, main courses, desserts, and salads while remaining committed to premium customer satisfaction.

We hope this compilation helps you decide on where next you want to have a swell time alone or with friends. If you are in Lagos for a short while and you desire a memorable experience beyond the traffic and noise, do not hold back on visiting these places.
