…As 100 Women emerged As Peak Performing Women 2024
The 2024 Peak Performer Woman Summit and Fun Day unfolded with a focus on leveraging emotional intelligence to address gender disparities among other biases in the workplace.
Themed “Enhancing Women Leadership with the Magic of Emotional Intelligence,” this event celebrated women leaders, including seasoned Board Chairman, Dr. Mosun Belo-Olusoga and the Chairman of The Guardian Newspaper, Lady Maiden Alex-Ibru, as Peak Performing Women 2024.
The summit featured panel sessions on emotional intelligence, navigating gender bias, and empathy-driven decision-making. The event was part of a broader three-day TPP Fest aimed at promoting leadership excellence and economic growth in Africa.
The host and world-class Performance Strategist, Dr. Abiola Salami, emphasized the critical role of emotional intelligence in women leadership, stating that understanding human biases is essential for effective interaction. He highlighted the need to create more opportunities for women to thrive, linking this to broader continental transformation goals.
At the 2024 Peak Performing Woman Summit, Lady Alex-Ibru highlighted the crucial link between social and emotional intelligence, emphasizing that human interaction is key to understanding emotions. She went ahead to share her ongoing efforts to combat gender bias at the Guardian, Nigeria’s most-read newspaper.
Echoing the thoughts of the Guardian Publisher, Dr. Belo-Olusoga provided strategies for overcoming boardroom gender bias. She stressed the value of hard work over talent, drawing from her experience as former Chairman of Access Bank.
The CEO of TVC Communications, Victoria Ajayi, underscored the importance of self-awareness and empathy in leadership, particularly for women CEOs. Ajayi shared her “KISS” model with participants, advising them to focus on “Keep, Improve, Start, and Stop (KISS).
THE GCEO of Xpress Payment Ltd, Dr. Markie Idowu, encouraged women to believe in themselves and emphasized the importance of giving timely feedback.
Adenike Macaulay, CEO of Wakanow, highlighted the significance of emotional intelligence, stating that it comprises 80 percent of a peak performer’s success.
These speakers engaged the audience in their valuable keynote speeches, panel discussions, and ample networking opportunities, all designed to cultivate a supportive environment for women leaders.
The second edition of The Peak Performing Woman of The Year brought together women from diverse backgrounds to empower Africa’s executives and help them push boundaries.

THE PEAK PERFORMER ADMIRABLE WOMAN IN LEADERSHIP AWARD 2024
The highlight of the day was the recognition of 100 ADMIRABLE WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP. These women were selected thought a rigorous process that began with nominations by those they have led in the year under review 2023/2024.
While about 2,300plus women in leadership were nominated for this recognition across Africa, our highly esteemed panel of assessors made up of some exceptional professionals concluded that the 100 women who made the final list stood immensely qualified to emerge on this elite group of women.

According to Dr. Abiola Salami, “Our commitment to women in leadership on THE PEAK PERFORMERTM platform is to provide opportunities to (1) enhance their personal and corporate brand (2) expand and deepen their network (3) enhance their leadership skills, and (4) build the capacity of their team to deliver on their business objectives. He further stated that “We look forward to welcoming and celebrating more women in leadership at The Peak Performer Festival 2025. Nominations for the 2025 edition of the awards will open in Q1 2025. TPP Fest 2025 is scheduled to hold from 14th – 20th July, 2025.“
