Business magnate, Elon Musk on Tuesday said that he would reverse the ban on the Teitter account of the former President Donald Trump if his deal to acquire the company is completed.
His remarks at Financial Times’ Future of the Car conference. Musk said he thinks Twitter should be more “reluctant to delete things” and “very cautious with permanent bans”.
He, therefore, called Twitter’s decision to ban Trump’s account last January a “mistake, adding that it alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.
According to Musk, the ban was a morally bad decision and “foolish in the extreme”.
Twitter had banned Trump’s account shortly after a mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on 6th January last year, citing the “risk of further incitement of violence”.
