Nigeria’s Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Thursday, told the National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that he was supposed to be consulted first before the party’s presidential ticket was open for anyone to bid.

The presidential hopeful aired his views during his visit to the party’s NWC in Abuja.

He also added that he had 11 million votes that he could use to help the party return victorious at the polls in 2023.

The PDP 2019 Presidential candidate, who commended the party leadership for allowing others to contest, insisted, “I deserve the right of first refusal”.

President Muhammadu Buhari had in 2015 defeated Atiku and other presidential candidates with over 15,191,847 votes, winning in 19 of the states.

Buhari polled 15, 191, 847 votes while Atiku, a former Nigerian vice president between 1999 and 2007, got 11, 262, 978 votes.

The PDP 2019 presidential flag bearer also pursued the case up to the Supreme Court where he also lost due to “lack of any scintilla of merit and therefore needed to be dismissed”.

He is currently contesting against former Senate President Bukola Saraki; Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and a list of others for the party’s ticket.
