The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has expressed dissatisfaction with the choice of the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s running mate for the 2023 elections.
Atiku had recently unveiled the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate for the 2023 election, a decision that has elicited a rift in the party.
peaking on Channels Television on Thursday night, Ortom said the party’s presidential candidate should have consulted the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike before announcing his choice.
“The candidate who won the primary has the final say, I have no problem with that.
“But I think that moving forward Wike would have been reached out to. Even some of us who were supporting Wike would have been told,” he said.
Ortom also reiterated that he was consulting with God on his choice for president in 2023.
Wike was a contender for PDP’s presidential ticket and also the vice presidential ticket.
