A member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Nnamdi Okafor, is dead.
The lawmaker reportedly slumped in his hotel room in South Africa, where he went for holiday.
Okafor has represented Awka South State constituency 1 for two consecutive terms and is also the majority leader of the State Assembly.
The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
Most members of the Anambra State House of Assembly have been in South Africa on holiday for close to a month since the Assembly went on recess.
Okafor’s death has, however, not been officially confirmed by the leadership of the State Assembly.
The deceased is a US-trained pharmacist, who runs a pharmaceutical company, with diagnostic services.
