How to Use the Sallah Meat Test to Honestly Audit Your Network

Because “Eid Mubarak” greeting without sending location is emotional wickedness

By Dr. Abiola Salami, Worldclass Performance Strategist

Today feels like one of those rare mornings when the calendar is quiet, traffic is forgiving, and even ambition is allowed to sit down for a while.

First, Eid Mubarak to my Muslim brothers and sisters. May this season bring peace to your home, joy to your heart, answered prayers to your family, and generous portions of Sallah meat to your plate.

And please, let’s be honest.

This is the season where relationships are silently audited; not by who calls, likes your picture, or comments “more grace,” but by one serious national question: Who has invited you to eat Sallah meat?

Because if nobody has called to say, “Come around, we killed ram,” don’t just use this holiday to rest. Use it to review your network o. Some friendships are not strategic. Some are not productive. Some are not even protein-compliant.

At this stage of life, you need more than people who send broadcast messages. You also need people who can send location. Because “Eid Mubarak” without address is emotional wickedness.

But that aside, this extended break is a gift.

The public holiday started on Wednesday, continued on Thursday, and by lived experience, many people will quietly add Friday before the weekend completes the assignment. So, for all practical purposes, work may not fully resume until Monday, 1st June.

That gives us something rare – a pause, a breather, and a chance to rest, reset, reflect, and return better.

Because when Monday comes, the real question will not only be, “Did you enjoy the break?” The deeper question will be: Are you returning with better clarity, sharper focus, and stronger execution energy?

Many people will return with only food memories. But leaders must return with insight. Teams must return with direction. Organizations must return with renewed execution discipline. So, before work resumes, ask yourself:

  1. Where have we been busy but not truly productive?
  2. Where is our strategy getting stuck?
  3. Where are decisions delayed because people are waiting for permission?
  4. Where are meetings replacing movement?
  5. Where is alignment assumed but not confirmed?
  6. Where is leadership pressure affecting clarity, courage, and consistency?
  7. Where are we celebrating effort while results are still struggling?

These are not casual questions. They are performance, leadership, and execution questions.

For many organizations, the difference between a good year and a great year will not be another strategy document. It will be the quality of execution after the document has been approved.

That is why TPP Fest 2026 brings together three high-impact leadership platforms:

  1. Strategy Execution Summit — equipping your next generation of leaders to turn strategy into measurable performance.
  2. CEO Forum — an exclusive room for top leaders to confront the real pressures of leadership, execution, succession, and legacy.
  3. TPP Awards — a prestigious stage celebrating Africa’s leaders and institutions whose impact deserves visibility, recognition, and legacy.

TPP Fest 2026 is for leaders and organizations serious about execution, productivity, influence, recognition, and legacy.

So yes, enjoy the break. Rest well. Eat well. Laugh well. Visit well. And please, may your friends not disappoint you in this Sallah meat economy.

But somewhere between the rice, ram meat, family visits, and remote control, think about what Monday should look like.

Because Monday is coming. Emails will return. Meetings will resume. Deadlines will start breathing again. Pressure will reintroduce itself.

And the organizations that will win are not necessarily those that rested the most. They are the ones that used the pause to think better, prepare better, and return stronger.

Enjoy the break, my friend. But more importantly, make it count.
